Aurelien Pasquier, Director of Jacques Ferrier Architecture China

Aurélien Pasquier, born in April 1976, graduated from the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture in 2001. He obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Architecture on the theorization of architecture and got the following year a Master of engineering of architectural, planning and urban planning.

After six years of experience between Switzerland, France and China, he returned to Paris at Jacques Ferrier where he followed for the French government the studies and construction of the Pavillon France for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

During the summer of 2011, he and Jacques Ferrier decided to open an agency in Shanghai. He founded JFA Shanghai in 2012. The projects cover office programs as cultural projects in different cities of China, for both private and state-owned companies.

JFA delivered in China the International French School of Beijing, is currently following the site of the Lingang Conference Center and recently won the competition of the Meishan National Museum in Chengdu.

John Thurtle, Senior Architect at OMA

John joined OMA in 2014, and is currently an Senior Architect in OMA Asia.

John has worked on a wide range of projects – spanning large-scale mixed

use, retail, transportation infrastructure, and urban masterplan projects.

While at OMA, John has worked on projects in China, Australia, Singapore,

Vietnam, Qatar, Egypt, and South Korea.

John holds a Master in Architecture from University of Hong Kong, and a

Bachelor of Architecture from University of Southern California.

Matteo Budel, Architect at OMA

Matteo joined OMA in 2014, and is currently an Architect in OMA Asia.

Matteo has been working mainly on Fondazione Prada project acting also as construction site architect up until its completion. At OMA, Matteo has worked on a variety of projects in China, Italy and Spain, ranging from competitions, mixed-use, office buildings and cultural facilities.

Matteo holds a Master in Architecture, graduating cum laude from IUAV in Venice, Italy.

Chen Lu, Architect at OMA

Chen Lu joined OMA in 2016. Chen has been actively involved in competitions and commissioned projects, including UCCA Regeneration, JOMOO Headquarter, Chengdu Maternity Hotel, K11 Prince Bay Mixed Use Development, and the Yangtze River Waterfront Masterplan in Wuhan.

Presently he is designing and coordinating an office campus project in Nanjing, JOMOO Headquarter in Xiamen, and the Hangzhou Prism tower.

Prior to joining OMA, Chen had solid experience in the US, Europe, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Projects span a wide range of scales and typologies, including competitions, infrastructure, mixed-use, office buildings, residential, hotel, and cultural facilities.

Holding an MArch degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design and graduating cum laude from Princeton University, Chen is a registered architect in the state of Illinois, US.

Robert Bannura, Partner at Steven Holl Architects

Mr. Bannura has spent the last 11 years living and working in Beijing since he joined Steven Holl Architects in 2007. In 2010, Mr. Bannura was made Director of the Beijing office and in 2018 he became Partner. As such, he has overseen a number of ongoing projects and competitions.

Prior to his involvement in China, Mr. Bannura spent 10 years living and working in New York City, six of which he spent working with Gwathmey Siegel & Associate Architects as a Project Architect. He was responsible for the design development and management of a number of high profile educational, commercial and residential projects.

Mr. Bannura received his Degree of Architect and Urban Planner from the Universidad de Chile in 1995 (master degree equivalent), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then continued his studies in Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile where he obtained a degree on Urban Economy in 1997.
