Robert Jan van Santen

Office : Lille/ Hong Kong/ Seoul

Position: Technical Director

Robert-Jan van SANTEN graduated from UPA3 Versailles (FR).  He worked 4 years in “Atelier de Paris” with Renzo PIANO. He set-up "Bureau d'études facade van SANTEN" in 1989, which later became "van SANTEN & Associés" (1999), and eventually VS-A (2010). He co-founded VS-A.HK in 2011, and VS-A.KR in 2013, and is in charge of the coordination and share of knowledge between these offices. He was honored with the Silver Medal from the French Académie d'Architecture for Research and Technique in 2008. He leads several Design and R&D studies, which results are regularly patented. He set-up with Naree KIM the Korean start-up company UBLO, to develop a personalized ventilation window.

Suzy Huang

Office : Hong Kong/ Shenzhen

Position: Associate

With 7 years’ experience in the glass facade industry, Suzy brings her knowledge to the VS-A Group as the co-founder and CEO of VS-A. HK. She hopes Robert Jan’s exquisite design concepts and ideas can be promoted in Asia, especially in China and completed to be iconic. She was the Overseas Director of major projects in Europe, Asia and USA for a leading Chinese glass facade manufacturer. Suzy is now in charge of management in VS-A.HK and glass research.

Naree Kim

Office : Seoul

Position: Architect / Associate

Naree KIM has been working in Europe and Asia as an architect on urban and architecture projects. She has studied in architectural engineering in Korea and architecture in France. Her understanding of  both architectural design and technical issues facilitates an efficient communication among the design team, contractors and other parties.

Gontran Dufour

Office : Lille

Position: Architect / Associate / Project Manager

After obtaining his Technological University Degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering in 1994, Gontran DUFOUR was awarded Architect D.P.L.G from the architecture school of LILLE. After 2 years of specific projects in architecture agencies, he joined van SANTEN and Associates in 2001 where he developed the thermal research team of the office. In 2002, he created with Robert-Jan van SANTEN van SANTEN and Partners which then became VS-A in 2010. He founded VS-A.HK together with Robert-Jan van SANTEN the following year. He is also a frequent speaker on thermal engineering techniques of building envelopes.
